Description
3/11/26- For sale is a Japanese Type 30 bayonet. The bayonet is a Variation A and is categorized in the Labar book as an LB-140. The blade is unblued with a fuller. The blade has patina but no serious damage, chipping, or spots of noticeable rust. The blade is reasonably sharp but still has patina, so it must be original sharpening. The blade is marked with the TALW manufacturer's mark and the Nagoya district inspection mark. The TALW logo has a rare upward-pointed character, signifying it's a very early production model. The crossguard has the large hook on the end, signifying an unmodified early production example. The grips are intact with no chipping or cracking. The pommel is serialized "12873". The metal scabbard is painted but has some significant paint loss although there appears to be no rust underneath. The scabbard is unmarked. Overall in excellent condition.
