9/9/24 - This is a good example of an original WW1 rifle sling. The leather on the sling is still pliable, there are cracks throughout, but overall the leather is in good condition. The part of the sling with the stud is marked "ANSt 23 15", this marking is strong and legible. The metal fittings on the sling are in good condition and have appropriate patina for an item of this age.
