Description
6/13/25 - This is a Colt M1911A1 that was manufactured in 1938. The production total for the year totaled at fewer than 1,300 and is the lowest military production total for any year of the 1911A1. The gun has matching frame and slide and has a Colt barrel with 'G' is present. Frame has 'P' on left side frame and on the slide. The frame correctly does not have an inspector's initials on it, as this practice was not done in 1938 or 1939. The 'H' proof on the left side of the frame is also correct, and indicates final inspection by Frederick Hauff. Comes with an un-proofed magazine. The entire gun has been professionally restored and refinished with virtually no bluing loss. There are a few tiny pits visible under the finish here and there. Fitted with minty wood grips. The bore has great rifling, but there is very light pin-pricking in the grooves.
