Description

11/19/25 - This is a Smith & Wesson K-22 Outdoorsman 1st model revolver, chambered in .22 LR with a 6" barrel. Production on this variation began at serial 632xxx in 1931, with this example produced in 1939 and delivered to Dave Cook Sporting Goods Company in Denver CO on June 17th of the same year. This revolver is stamped with a star on the butt, which according to the accompanying factory letter, indicates the revolver was factory refinished in November of 1948. The revolver is all matching and has retained 85-90% of its bluing, with muzzle wear and thinning/mild finish loss along the barrel. Additional areas of finish loss on the extractor rod, underside of the trigger guard, top of the frame, and high edges of the tang and cylinder. A few scattered streaks of wear on the profiles of the frame, a turn line on the cylinder, and some thinning and light surface freckling on the butt and front strap. An additional spot of oxidation on the right side of the barrel. Minty bore. Fitted with a great set of checkered grips, with some handling marks on the bottom edges.
