3/24/26 - This is a very nice example of a 1945 Colt 1911A1. The pistol ended up in the hands of the British government/military as part of the lend-lease program, as the right side of the frame and slide have various English proofs, including 'RELEASED BRITISH GOVT. 1952', and 'NOT ENGLISH MAKE' on the frame. Proper British-proofed barrel, with a mint bore. It has retained about 92% of its original finish. There is minor muzzle wear and wear around the high edges. There is streaky wear on the both sides of the slide (more concentrated on the right profile), scattered handling marks, and hints of surface oxidation on the grip safety. It has excellent grips with no issues, and comes with an unmarked blued magazine.
