Description
3/18/26- For sale is an Australian bayonet for the Owen submachine gun. The bayonet is physically almost identical to a shortened 1907 pattern bayonet, but the positioning of the fuller indicates the blade was newly manufactured to shorter specifications and there are Australian proofmarks dating to the early 1950s. The blade is about 10 inches long and Parkerized. The fullers do not extend to the end of the blade, indicating it was manufactured at this length and not cut. One side has proofmarks including a date of "52" and the other side has an MA proof for Lithgow in Australia. The wooden handles are intact and have no damage or cracking. The handles are stamped "SLAZ 52", an Australian supplier with a date that matches the blade. The scabbard is leather with metal fittings, much like the P1907. The canvas frog is fully intact with minimal wear and no discoloration. Overall in excellent condition.
