Description
11/4/25 - This is a nice example of an Austrian OWA Vest Pocket pistol, manufactured in the early 1920s and chambered in .25 ACP (6.35mm). These compact semi-automatic pistols were manufactured by Österreichische Werke Anstalt (OWA) in Steyr, Austria. Based loosely on the Browning 1906 design, they feature a simple blowback mechanism, fixed sights, and a 6-round single-stack magazine. Production numbers were relatively limited compared to contemporary European pocket pistols, making them a desirable example of early post-WWI Austrian firearms. Known for their high level of machining and distinctive grip panels bearing the “OWA” logo, these pistols were marketed for civilian self-defense and export. Their small size, quality manufacture, and historical context make them an interesting and affordable collectible today. It is matching, and the finish rates about 93%. There is just minor wear around the high edges. However, the most obvious sign of wear is an area of light spotty oxidation and pin-pricking around the rear section starting at the ejection port on the frame and slide on the right side of the pistol, and some scattered areas of minor freckling here and there. Fitted with proper OWA grips. Comes with one magazine. The bore has decent rifling but is lightly pitted throughout.
