Description
1/23/26- For sale is a fully painted and decorated American souvenir helmet from WWI. The helmet is a standard American pattern Brodie helmet with proper lot and heat treatment stamps. The exterior of the helmet is completely painted with a multi-colored camouflage pattern, with each "cell" labeled with various battles and locations like "Argonne", "Marne", Army of Occupation 1918-1919", "Alsace-Lorraine", and "1917-1918 Worlds War". The front is painted with the emblem of the 3rd Division, along with "Btry. D. 76th F.A.", indicating service in an artillery battery. The helmet was likely painted by the original owner as a souvenir of the war and to remember various places they had served. The helmet liner is fully intact and the rim is painted with "L.A. Werner", possibly the soldier in question. Overall in excellent condition.
