Description
7/31/25 - The following are a near mint example of German 7x50 binoculars made with dienstglas optics by blc- the German government code for manufacturer Carl Zeiss Jena. These binoculars rarer in that they have a blue plus "+" mark on the right side under blc that indicates they were treated for cold weather. The body of the binoculars are in outstanding shape with only a couple small areas of chipping/damage. The hinge that opens and closes the binoculars requires some effort to move but can be maneuvered and the lenses are adjustable. The lenses themselves are very clear. The base and metal around the eyepieces have areas of minor evidence of wear or loss of paint. Right side is stamped "Dienstglas", "7x50", "2227868", and "blc +". The neck strap and plastic eye cover both appear to be postwar additions to these.
