2/24/26 - This is a boxed Colt Government Model 1911 manufactured in 1951. Left slide of the slide is marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL / COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBER .45” with the Rampant Colt. The right side of the slide is stamped “COLT’S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." The barrel hood is marked "COLT .45 AUTO." While this pistol has retained virtually all of its original bluing, there is light freckling throughout the matte finished portions of the metal, including the top round and underside of the slide, front grip strap, and grip safety. The high polished areas of the metal (including slide flats and frame profile) are in excellent condition, showing only general muzzle and high edge wear, and a very light takedown scratch. Excellent bore with minor signs of use. Fitted with an excellent set of correct, brown-checkered Colt medallion grips. Includes an original, unnumbered Colt Government Model .45 5-inch labeled box, though the box is quite worn with some tears, crushing, and staining, and one original magazine.
