Description
8/28/25 - Introduced in 1862 as the "Police Pocket Model of 1862 of Navy Caliber (.36)", this 5 shot .36 caliber percussion revolver was often purchased by serving Officers as a reserve handgun carried on the inside of their tunics. This one is mostly matching, but the cylinder is mismatched and the barrel wedge is un-numbered. 6.5" barrel. We believe the barrel and frame have been re-numbered. The serial number indicates production in 1863, according to Colt firearms records. The top of the barrel still has the original Colt markings clearly ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. This one is fully functional and in nice condition overall. The cylinder scene has roughly 45% visibility. The finish on the barrel has been removed, and it appears to have been wire-brushed or buffed. Some oxidation and tiny pitting on the cylinder. Fitted with nice wood grips - some minor damage to the bottom edge of the right grip. The bore has good rifling, but there is some surface oxidation and light rust throughout. No FFL required. The barrel wedge fits loose.
