Clark Custom “Hardball” Colt MK IV Series 70

9/17/25 - This is a Clark Custom Colt “Hardball” MK IV Series 70. Made in 1978, this Government Model was professionally accurized at Jim Clark Sr.’s Keithville, Louisiana shop, as denoted by the slide marking “Clark Hard Ball Keithville LA 71047.” Clark Sr. built these for NRA and CMP service pistol competitions, and this particular example was customized in November of 1987. This is indicated by the last 3 digits of the serial number and date internally engraved in the slide, as is the case for all Clark Sr. custom builds. Features include Clark's signature “Tiger Tooth” punch stippling on the front strap for a locked-in one-hand bullseye grip, a Bo-Mar micrometer-adjustable rear sight with a fine target front, tightened slide-to-frame fit, Clark reliability and accuracy work, and a crisp target trigger. Condition is near-mint, with the gun retaining virtually all its original finish, with only minor handling scuffs, a small spot of finish loss on the front underside of the slide from racking, and a very light "idiot scratch" beneath the slide stop. The bore shows very few signs of use, and the grips are excellent. Includes one proper magazine.
