Description
11/6/25 - Original and nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1898, issued to the US military in 1902. Includes COA from Civilian Marksmanship Program. Overall, the gun has retained roughly half of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the receiver. There is a pleasing patina on virtually all of the metal parts, but no heavy corrosion or pitting. The left side of the stock has a crisp 1902 date and military inspection stamp. The letter "P" is stamped behind the trigger guard. No major damage to the wood, but there is noticeable handling marks throughout. There is a surface indication along top hand guard, but it is solid and does not go through the wood. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor pitting, oxidation and darkening along the bore. Fully functional.
