Description
3/23/26 - This is a WWII Colt that was re-worked post-war (likely 1960's) for National Match shooting for civilians at Camp Perry. It is commonly known as the "Camp Perry National Match" gun. It has the proper National Match barrel and sights. Also features the unique stippled front strap, as only the Camp Perry guns were made this way. The original Colt was from 1944, and has the GHD inspector proof (barely visible after the Arsenal rework). Then the gun would have been hand crafted into a very tight and accurate competition pistol. The frame, slide, barrel, and barrel bushing are all matching numbered to the gun. The action is very tight, as the parts are hand-fitted. The pistol retains about 92% of the parkerized finish, with handling marks scattered across both sides of the profile, some high edge wear, and minor thinning on the grip safety. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, and minor fouling in the grooves. Comes with one proper "S" marked WWII-era 1911A1 magazine.
