Description
9/18/25 - This Colt Single Action Army Revolver was shipped on June 20th, 1957, features a 7.5" barrel, and is chambered in .45 Long Colt. This example has all the correct features of this early second gen variation, including matching serial numbers on the frame in front the trigger guard and internally on both grip panels. From 1957-1974, Colt used an assembly number so that once the frame, loading gate, and cylinder were polished, they could be easily paired for final assembly. This particular gun has the assembly number "947" correctly stamped on the right side of the frame under the grips, and the cylinder. Notably, the loading gate number is very faint, which we believe is likely due to refinishing. Unless special ordered, Colt only offered two possible frame finishes on these until much later in production, color case hardened and factory nickeled. This example is notably all blued, and though the Colt letter states that it left the factory as a "blue" finish, that is how all case hardened examples were designated. Those factors lean towards a professional level restoration, as the finish itself does not exhibit obvious visual differences to many original examples we've encountered. The gun is nearly stone mint, with the faintest hint of a roll mark on the cylinder being the only wear to note. Excellent shiny bore. Fitted with minty proper matching two-piece hard rubber rampant Colt oval grips. Comes with a Colt letter.
