Description

12/4/23 - This is a great example of a Gewehr 98 made by the Danzig Arsenal in 1917. The rifle retains the majority of its original finish. The receiver is in the white but has some prickling of corrosion throughout. Many of the parts still retain some of its original bluing but the majority of the rifle has patina on it. The stock is in good shape without any damage to note. There are some handling marks throughout the stock which can be seen in the photos. The stock has been lightly sanded but the cartouches are still sharp. The rifle has matching serials throughout except for the magazine follower and the rear trigger guard screw. The bore is fairly dark with a hint of brightness when shining a line and the rifling is sharp.
