Description
11/16/25 - This is an early Mauser C96 rig manufactured between 1911-1915. The pistol itself is all matching, though the stock is not numbered. It has retained about 92% of its bluing, with some muzzle and high edge wear, and some thinning on the back strap. More significant thinning and a couple areas of pitting and discoloration around the front of the magazine well, and dots of freckling here and there throughout the frame and a few spots on the slide. The bore is shiny with sharp rifling, but is frosted in the grooves. Fitted with an excellent set of wood grips. The stock is in excellent condition, with no notable issues. The harness is 1916 dated with clear maker mark. The body of it is in very good shape but some of the leather is wrinkling and cracking from age, and there is also some mild handling wear throughout. The harness contains a spare magazine spring. The gun is engraved on the frame with a soldier's name "Ed Francke" and unit marking "L.F.A.R.9", which stands for "light field artillery regiment 9".
