Description
3/18/26- For sale is a German Heer dining hall set, including a plate, spoon, knife, and fork. These utensils would have been found at an established base with a dining hall, rather than the very simple and durable items used to feed the troops in combat zones. The plate is about 9 inches across and is marked on the bottom with a Nazi eagle and a manufacturer mark from Krautheim in Bavaria, dated 1938. As the marking is pre-war, it makes sense for the marking to include English text because export sales were still a possibility. There are no chips or cracks which is rare for nearly 90 year old porcelain. The utensils are very light and are likely made from aluminum. The back of the spoon is marked with the Nazi eagle, a 40 date code, and the manufacturer A.W.JBS. The fork is marked on the back with the Nazi eagle, a 39 date code, and the manufacturer FBCM. The back of the knife is stamped with a Nazi eagle, a 39 date code, and the G&CL manufacturer. All cutlery has patina and light wear but no denting, bending, or damage. Set in overall excellent condition.
