Description
8/1/25 - This is an excellent and original DWM Artillery Luger from 1916, when only 20,000 such pistols were produced. The DWM LP.08 "Artillery" Luger was developed during World War I by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) to meet the German military’s need for a pistol capable of greater range and accuracy. Introduced in 1914, the LP.08 features a long 8-inch barrel, a finely adjustable rear sight (graduated to 800 meters), and a detachable shoulder stock, effectively turning it into a carbine-like sidearm. It was primarily issued to artillery crews, aviators, and stormtrooper units who needed a compact yet powerful weapon. Though production ended after the war, the LP.08 remains one of the most iconic and distinctive Luger variants, prized today for its craftsmanship and unique role in early 20th-century military history. The gun is all matching with the proper Imperial German military proofs throughout. It's original finish rates about 96-97%. While there is very little actual finish loss, but there are some small spots of oxidation here and there. Fitted with minty, matching-numbered wood grips. Comes with a mismatched but period-correct magazine. Mint bore.
