7/31/25 - This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military in 1943. The serial number on the receiver dates to April of 1943. The barrel is marked Springfield and also dated April of 1943. There are Springfield and cross-canon cartouches on the left side of the butt stock."P" proof around the wrist. A rack number is stamped on the right side of the butt stock. The finish on the metal parts rates about 97%. There is very little actual finish loss, just some very minor discoloration on the receiver and some tiny handling marks here and there. The wood furniture has no major damage, but shows bruising here and there. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Throat gauge: 3. Muzzle gauge: 4.
