Description
11/12/25 - This is a rare Mann Model 1921 Pocket Pistol, a 5-shot, a .25 ACP vest pocket pistol developed by Fritz Mann manufactured between 1921-1924. Intended to be smaller and lighter than its competitors, its key innovation was a unique circular groove in the chamber that delayed the blowback operation, allowing for a significantly lighter breech block. This model was a slight simplification of the 1920 version, characterized by the removal of a secondary loaded chamber indicator. While noted for its clever design, the pistol was not a commercial success, with production estimated at fewer than 20,000 produced. This particular example is in excellent condition, with about 95% of its bluing remaining. Finish loss on the high edges, around the muzzle, and a few scattered spots under the trigger guard, along the top strap, and at the bottom of the rear grip strap. Some visible discoloration on the top of the right side of the gun, and some light oxidation on the right side between the grip panel and trigger. Excellent shiny bore, with minor frost. Fitted with excellent original grips, with just some minor handling marks. Comes with a proper magazine which is in excellent condition, though it is a bit stiff on removal.
