Description
03/09/26 - For sale is a Springfield M1 Garand that was converted into a Mk2 Mod 0 by the US Navy during the 1960s. Harrington & Richardson and American Machine and Foundry Company (AMF) had done the conversions. The Mod 0 had a chamber bushing installed to allow existing .30-06 rifles to be converted easily. The Mk2 Mod 1 was a Garand rebarreled with a newly made Springfield Armory 7.62 NATO barrel.
The receiver has a nice dark parkerized finish with the barrel having a slight tone difference, but still a nice finish. The stock is in great shape but the surface has been lightly sanded and a varnish-like finish applied. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The muzzle erosion rating is 2. The side of the barrel is stamped H&R G 7.62 NATO.
