Description
3/3/26- For sale is a German "dove head' parade sword. These swords were often issued to NCOs as dress uniform items during the interwar and WW2 eras. This one has no Nazi markings so it was most likely from before the beginning of Nazi rule in 1933, although it could have still been carried through the wartime period by a long-serving officer. The blade is bright, with a few spots of patina but no serious damage, rust, or blade chipping. The brass handle is intact with moderate wear but no serious damage or deep scrapes. The grip itself is also intact. There is a leather and aluminum threaded portepee knot with no tearing and only gentle fraying. The scabbard is black painted with patina and some spots of finish loss but there is no serious damage and no dents. Overall in very good condition.
