Description
7/17/25 - The following is a decent example of a German M42 helmet with no decals and a very nice field cover that goes with the helmet. The exterior of the helmet has almost all of its original factory paint that appears to have been protected by the cover. There are some small sections of patina freckled throughout and all three split pins are intact. The helmet cover is in remarkable condition with the camouflage pattern clearly visible. The helmet does have evidence of daily use and has some small tears and rips, most notably at the dome of the cover and in the back. The interior of the helmet has a lot of the paint chipped and there are areas of oxidization throughout the brim area. The steel band is intact in the helmet. The leather interior has completely broken away from the steel band that would normally hold it in place, and the chinstrap is also missing. The maker of the helmet is unknown, as is the size. Lot number 51.
