Description
03/02/26 - For sale is a Gustloff K98k made in 1944. The rifle has little of its original finish remaining, and the receiver and barrel bands have residue from being touched up with cold blue. The Stock is clean and shows its age and wear. No cracks or breaks to note. There is a C stamp at the Keel and under the buttplate is stamped Br 36. There is no serial stamped in the stock channel, though Steves and Karem's book mentions they were serialized into the Y block. The handguard lacks the C stamp. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The rifle has matching numbers on the barrel, bolt handle, bolt sleeve, safety, and cocking piece. The barrel bands lack numbers, as well as the magazine floor plate, as observed in late letter suffix rifles prior to the 5 digit serial rifles. The action screws are a mix of 2 different styles and the trigger guard is a variation not using a locking screw. We are unsure when the change happened from one variation to the other, though it was observed in 1945.
