Israeli Brno K98k 7.62 NATO - Rampant Lion

12/11/25 - For sale is a post-war Czech K98k that was converted to a 7.62 NATO and used by the Israeli Military after WW2. The receiver is uncommon, retaining the Rampant Lion that was normally ground off when exported.  The Czechoslovak Brno Vz.24 Mauser rifle has a strong historical connection to Israel’s founding. Large numbers were supplied to the Haganah in 1947 and 1948, then later converted by the IDF from the original 8 mm to the standard 7.62 NATO caliber. This example reflects that history with its original IDF sling, Israeli arsenal markings, and the typical mix of wartime Nazi-marked components that Czechoslovakia reworked after the war. Rifles like this served as core infantry arms during Israel’s early years and represent a significant chapter in the country’s struggle for independence.

The receiver has a lightly worn phosphate finish, while the barrel and trigger guard/magazine have a brighter park from the rebuild. The stock is in great shape with little wear. There are two brass pins inserted into the left side of the stock to prevent the spread of 2 small splits in the grains. The toe has "7.62" burned into it. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The bolt handle matches the receiver, but the old number was ground and restamped.
