Japanese Civilian Shell

7/22/25 - The following is a nice example of a Japanese civilian shell helmet. The exterior paint is largely original and intact. The metal has sections of oxidization throughout, and a few freckles of rust on the back portion of the crown near the dome of the helmet. The star that is attached to the helmet seems to have been added and is a reproduction piece. The interior of the helmet has most of the original paint remaining with a few freckles of patina. The interior liner system is completely missing from the helmet, and the chinstrap appears to be a reproduction that was added at a later date. Unknown maker or size.
