12/1/25 - For sale is a German Gewehr 98 made by JP Sauer & Sohn in 1916. The rifle is well aged and ahas a greyed bluing on the metal and patina. The receiver is no longer in the white and has a dark grey and oxidized surface. The stock has been lightly sanded with the proof stamps still visible. The bore is mostly bright with strong rifling, but there is a patch of heavy oxidation residue about 6 inches down from the muzzle. The rifle is mostly matching numbers, but the bolt and cocking sleeve appear to have been renumbered to match the rifle. The bottom of the bolt handle is proofed with a Mauser or Erfurt Eagle. Comes with an original sling, but there are a couple small tears. Comes with a muzzle cover.
