Description
7/21/25 - The following is a good example of a German M42 helmet. The exterior of the helmet is is in decent condition with a majority of its factory field gray paint still intact as well as remnants of white wash from possible winter use. There is also a faint outline of a decal on the left side of the helmet that has been mostly removed. There are scratches especially around the crown and dome of the helmet, and there is areas of oxidization throughout and one small spot of rust around the dome but all three split pins are intact. The interior of the helmet has most of the original paint and small areas of patina especially around the brim on the left side. The steel band and leather liner are present. The leather liner has evidence of heavy use and there is some tears in the leather tongues as well as a partial detachment from the steel band in the rear. The helmet has a white painted inscription on the rear brim which states "Sold Lhbus". Made by HKP- Sächsische Emaillier- und Stanzwerke A.G.- Lauter, size 62, lot #2000.
