Description

1/27/26- For sale is a Civil War era Navy officer's sword. These swords were made and issued before and during the Civil War although they were generally not used in combat. There is significant pitting and patina on the blade although no rust or major darkening. There are two or three chips in the blade. There are no visible markings or stamps on the blade. The handguard has a floral pattern with the letters USN. There is a split down the middle of the grip but it is only about 1mm wide. The gold tassel is a nice modern replacement. Overall in fair condition.
