Description
6/9/25 - For sale is a Model 1891 Mosin Nagant made by New England Westinghouse originally for the Russian Government. When the Communists took over after the October Revolution, they would default on their contract with Remington and N.E.W. which caused them to nearly go under. The US Gov't would purchase rifles from both companies to keep them afloat and many were issued to the US Military like the National Guard.
This rifle has faint eagle head proof marks on the barrel shank that was used by the US military. The receiver and barrel shank have a nice blued finish with a layer of patina. The magazine has lost nearly all its finish. The bolt is turning a brownish color. The stock shows signs of being sanded and has numerous dings and nicks. The bore has a hint of brightness but is mostly dark. The rifling is still present. The rifle is mismatched entirely. Cleaning rod is absent.
