Description
1/26/26 - This wartime Mauser HSc was manufactured in 1943 for military use, displaying a clear Eagle/135 on the left side of the trigger guard and an Eagle/N on the right side. The designation HSc stands for Hahn Selbstspanner ("self-cocking hammer") Pistole, third and final design "C". These pistols were originally intended for commercial use but ended up competing with the PPK, PP and Sauer 38h for police and military use. The third and fourth army variations featured the Eagle/135 proof, with the serials ranging from 745,000-886,000. This pistol falls in the fourth variation with serial number 860715. This pistol is all matching-numbered. This HSc has been refinished with a nickel plating, most likely done by the G.I. that brought it back with them. The finish shows signs of wear with some spotting near the etching on the slide, some flaking near the serrations on the right side of the slide, and some chipped, missing finish on the takedown button in the trigger well. The bore is bright with strong, mirrored rifling. The wood grips are in great condition with a few small bruises present towards the front of each grip panel. The gun is sound with all functionality checks working as intended.
