Description
8/26/25 - This is a V-44 Survival Knife manufactured by Collins and Co. Legitimus during the WW2 period. These knives were given to pilots and air crew as a survival tool in case they were shot down over enemy territory. The handle is in good shape overall but it has a small crack next to the last pin closest to the pommel. The word "EMBER" is scratched onto the right side of the handle. The crossguard is also in good shape. There are a few areas of blue/green oxidation. The blade has uniform patina over its surface but it shows no signs of polish and sharpening and the makers mark is clearly visible just above the crossguard. It comes with a Collins and Co. Legitimus scabbard that is made of leather and has a beautiful design pressed into it. The most significant areas of wear on the scabbard are at the bottom by the blade point and along the scabbard edges.
