Description
3/2/26- For sale is a nice WW2 era folding stock for the M1A1 paratrooper carbine. The M1A1 caribe is an iconic weapon carried by the likes of the 101st Airborne and the Band of Brothers and the folding stock is the key component that transforms a standard M1 into the paratrooper variant. The wood on the stock is very nice, with no cracks or deep scrapes. The metal fittings are all dark, with some wear and finish loss but no major damage or spots of major rust. The inside of the stock is marked "IO" for "Overton-Inland" and the bottom of the pistol grip is marked "RI 3" for "Richardson", another Inland parts supplier. The inside of the buttplate is marked with the part number and the logo of Saginaw Malleable Iron, the only WWII supplier of these buttplates. All markings indicate matched Inland parts and confirmed WWII suppliers. The leather cheek pad is intact. There is no P proof, so this stock was not mounted to a completed gun and was likely unissued or a replacement part. Overall in excellent condition.
