Description
7/30/25 - This is an interesting example of a WWII German Luftwaffe gravity knife by Paul Weyersberg & Co. The condition is very nice overall, but there have been attempts at unprofessional cleaning and/or restoration by previous owners. The locking mechanism works exactly as designed and when the blade is out it is very stable with almost no play which is a rarity for gravity knives. The blade has some of the original factory cross-grain and there are scratches which indicates that the blade was sharpened. The blade appears to have been polished as have the fixtures that hold the blade and handles in place. The wooden handles have been sanded as well. The catch and inside area by the spike have matching "419" stamps. Rare small Luftwaffe proof is stamped on the base of the spike. Lanyard appears to have been added later.
