Description
1/15/26- For sale is a very rare extended 20 round magazine for the M1903 Springfield. These magazines were developed as an experimental project during WWI to serve as defensive or survival weapons for American pilots. After attaching the magazine to the internal feed system, the 1903 Springfield would hold 25 rounds, an almost unheard of capacity for a bolt action rifle. With only around 900 produced before the end of the war, very few of these magazines are known to exist and you are more likely to find one in a museum than for sale! The magazine has very little wear, with only a few spots of corrosion or handling wear. The internal spring is functional. The bottom right corner has the expected eagle X32 inspection stamp and the bottom left corner has an eagle 31 stamp. The magazine also comes with a small metal piece for fitting the magazine to the rifle. The original cardboard box is also included, a very rare piece that is almost never encountered. The box has light damage and several spots of tape but is in very good shape for 100 year old cardboard. Magazine and box are overall in excellent condition.
