Description
12/11/25 - This is a stunning example of an early Mauser C96 Austrian Imperial contract rig made in 1916. This very rare pistol retains around 94-95% of its original blue, with high edge wear and minor thinning/finish loss under the barrel from being stored in its matching shoulder stock. A bit of wear on the underside of the magazine well, and a couple scattered surface scratches/scuffs Austrian contract guns were taken directly from the Imperial German contract, and as a result, have a German acceptance stamp on the right chamber and on the shoulder stock. In addition, an Austrian Imperial proof, consisting of 'W.n.', an Imperial Eagle and the date were struck on the right diagonal flat over the chamber. Same proof was repeated on the lid of the shoulder stock. The gun is all matching and has an excellent bore and grips, with plenty of fire blue left on the small parts. Matching shoulder stock is equally fantastic shape, with no cracks and both Austrian and German acceptance marks crisply visible. The stock push button is fully functional but slightly tight.
