Description
2/03/26 - This is an excellent example of an Italian Army Glisenti pistol. These were very complex guns with all machined parts and a beautiful, early 1900s rust blue finish that was very expensive to produce. The 1910s were used by all branches of the Italian army before, during and after WWI, eventually being replaced by the more durable and cheaply produced Beretta 1934-1935 pistols. Chambered in 9mm Glisenti, which was an underpowered version of the German 9mm Para cartridge. One should take care not to use 9mm Para in this gun, as it can result in irreparable damage and can be dangerous to the shooter. This particular example is all matching, with the serial number stamped on barrel, receiver, bolt, sideplate, and both grip panels. It has almost no actual bluing loss, but there are areas of very light scattered oxidation on the frame, a bit of wear around the muzzle, some freckling on the grip straps, and hints of high edge wear. Matching numbered grips fit well and are in mostly great condition, but the left panel has a tiny chip on the top and a repair on the bottom (which is nearly imperceptible externally but obvious internally when the grips are removed). The bore is shiny with decent rifling, but is heavily oxidized throughout. Comes as a rig with two proper magazines and an unmarked leather holster which is in great overall condition, though the reverse side has been altered with a perfectly functional but replaced strap, and stitches removed from where the old strap was. Excellent mechanics. A small disassembly tool is present under the left grip.
