Description
7/14/25 - This is a rare example of an M42 German combat helmet that was assigned to the RAD (Reich Labor Service). The exterior of the helmet still has most of the original paint, as well as the rare RAD decal on the left side of the helmet that is still mostly visible through some pitting and patina. The exterior of the helmet has significant oxidization throughout but still has all three split pins intact. The interior metal of the helmet, like the outside, has significant oxidization around the brim, and one section of rust around the interior steel band. There is also an intact leather liner that is attached to the internal steel band. The leather is brittle and has some surface cracking as well as significant signs of daily use. One of the tongues of the leather liner is partially torn but still in good shape. There is also a marking in the leather liner at the very front of the helmet that says "JOLE". The chin strap is also intact and the leather is soft and malleable. Made by ET, size 64, lot #1906.
