Description

2/19/26- For sale is a nicely refinished 1873 Springfield trapdoor bayonet. The blade is nicely blued with some light spots of patina. The "U.S." stamp is still visible on the base of the blade but it is faint, possibly indicating buffing of the blade before re-bluing. The socket has minimal wear and is nicely blued. The scabbard is also reblued, with a slightly wavy coloring line down the middle of the scabbard. The scabbard has no dents or serious damage. The frog is intact with expected wear and aging but no serious damage. The brass belt hook has slight patina and the nice "U.S." letters. Overall in excellent but refinished condition.
