Description
6/5/25 - For sale is a Canadian No4 Mk1 Lee Enfield made by the Long Branch Arsenal in 1945. There was a growing trend throughout the Commonwealth of target rifles chambered in the newer 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. Around 1965-1966, the conversions began of existing No4 Lee Enfields to the new cartridge. The rifle could not be modified in a significant way and was required to maintain its military configuration. The bolt head was not modified to and properly extracts the 7.62 NATO cartridge. A no-drill Parker Hale 5c rear diopter sight was installed. The magazines were also converted using Sterling made magazines.
The rifle is in great condition overall with the typical Enfield black enamel finish throughout. Theres patches of the enamel finish flaking off. The stock is in great shape but has been sanded. The bore is mirror bright with strong rifling. The muzzle is marked "7.62". The rifle has a matching stock and receiver but the bolt has a "1691" that does not corelate with the serial.
