Description
02/05/26 - For sale is an German FG-42 First Pattern bayonet made during WW2. The FG-42 was designed to mount a bayonet identical to the French MAS-36 spike bayonet. The Germans would first take captured MAS-36 bayonets and cut them down to fit the rifle. The first pattern production was a copy of the French bayonet using a checkered knurling with two spring loaded locking tabs. The 2nd pattern would get rid of the knurling. This bayonet does not show signs of being an original modified French version as there is no sign of the serial number on the grip. Though the locking tabs or the endcap does not have a maker stamp as seen on other bayonets. Overall is in great condition with honest patina.
