Description
2/26/26- For sale is a shoulder stock and holster, likely for the Shanxi Type 17 pistol. The Shanxi Type 17 was a Chinese copy of the Mauser C96 that was enlarged to fire the American .45 ACP round that was frequently used in China at the time. The original Type 17s were made between 1928 and 1931 and are extremely rare, so a new production run was made in China in the late 1980s and exported. This stock is most likely from that later production run. The stock has bright steel screws rather than blued or slightly rusted screws, indicating a more modern production. The stock is also significantly larger than a standard C96 stock, indicating it was made for the enlarged frame of the Type 17 rather than a standard Mauser. The stock has been heavily stained but has no scrapes, cracks, or serious damage. All metal fittings are intact and the latch and mounting bracket are both functional. The leather harness is fully intact with no damage. There are no visible manufacturer or date markings. Overall in excellent condition.
