Description
7/28/25 - This is a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1937. This is a second variant with blued small parts. It is all matching with the proper "Eagle 83" military acceptance proofs. It comes as a rig with a 1939-dated holster and a mismatched but period-correct "Eagle 83" magazine. The holster is fairly worn, and the stitching holding the top flap is almost entirely gone. There is a small piece of paper taped to the inside of the holster. Typewritten on the paper is what looks like the name of the GI who captured it, his GI number, the word "Luger", and "8478" which is the matching serial number to the gun. The paper and style of typewriting appear to be period-correct, so it was likely done shortly after he acquired it. We can't say for certain, but given the age of the paper, we have no reason to believe this rig didn't come together. The gun's finish rates roughly 75-80% with spotty wear throughout. Fitted with very nice matching-numbered wood grips. The bore has decent rifling, but there is spotty freckling throughout.
