Description

01/27/26 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is "United States Property" marked and has the proper "H P" marked barrel. It comes as a rig with one period-correct two-tone magazine and a nice 1918-dated holster (leather lanyard intact). There is minor age-related wrinkling of the leather and a small drop of dried adhesive on the bottom of the reverse side. The gun itself has retained 80-85% of its original Colt bluing. There is wear around the muzzle and along the high edges of the slide and frame. Some thinning on the grip straps, mainspring housing, and underside of the trigger guard. There are a few scattered spots of finish loss and handling marks on the slide. There are also scattered dots of light surface oxidation throughout the slide and on the mainspring housing. Bore is shiny with decent rifling, but is frosted in the grooves. Excellent grips with mild handling wear.
