Description
10/31/25 - This is a minty example of a WWII-era Colt 1911A1 that was originally issued to the US military. This example is particularly notable for having a very rare 1940 frame. Less than 5000 1911A1s were manufactured that year. It was later reworked and sold to the public as a part of the CMP Program. The slide and barrel are postwar replacements with mismatched serial numbers. The gun comes with a really nice CMP-issued Pelican-style hard case, a certificate of authenticity from the CMP, and one postwar magazine. It also comes with a set of nice WWII-era grips. The gun itself has been completely arsenal refurbished and refinished but it is in excellent overall condition, with just a bit of high edge wear. The bore is shiny with good rifling, but is frosted in the grooves.
