Description
11/21/25 - This is a rare matched pair of cased 1960 Ruger Super Blackhawk revolvers, serial numbers 2248 and 2249. These single-action .44 Magnum revolvers were manufactured in 1960 (the second year of Super Blackhawk production) and are Old Model variants with the original “three-screw” action (no transfer-bar safety). Both feature 7.5" barrels with adjustable rear sights and Patridge front sights, unfluted six-shot cylinders, smooth walnut grips with silver-and-black Ruger eagle medallions, and the high-polish finish typical of early Super Blackhawks. Both revolvers are in mint condition, showing no visible wear, and both have mint bores. Each gun comes with its original dovetailed mahogany presentation case, a factory accessory offered only from 1959–1961, when the supplier of these cases factory burned down. This listing also includes both, original matching numbered cardboard shipping boxes, and an original instruction manual/parts list dated 8/1/1959. The grips are pristine on both, however please note that one revolver (#2249) has a slightly lighter tone on its right grip panel compared to the left. It is exceptionally hard to find consecutive-serial-number Super Blackhawks in such superb and complete original condition.
