Description

9/11/25- Persian produced Russian pattern 1881 dragoon shashka. Locally produced in Persia to equip a the Persian Cossack Brigade that was active between 1879 and 1921. Sabre is a slight modification of the Russian pattern and includes a knuckle guard which was not included on the Russian design. Blade has some wear but is in overall very good condition. Wood on handle has minor scratches and damage but no cracks and is in overall very good condition. Loop on the end of the crossguard is missing and brass has some minor pitting. Scabbard is free from dents and intact but has significant wear on the paint. Blade and handle bear same serial stamp in Persian characters. Overall in good condition.
