Description
1/12/25 - This is a very rarely encountered Stevens Savage Model 620 trench shotgun, made as a part of US military procurement during WWII. Unlike its M520 counterpart, this was a hammerless model, very much like Winchester M12. It was produced in trench configuration in limited numbers and is very difficult for a collector to acquire. This particular gun is a textbook example, with all the correct military markings, original finish and all original parts including the bayonet lug and heat shield. Canfield reports that fewer than 10,000 military trench examples were ordered during WW2. This particular example is in very good condition with minor edge wear on the receiver, and standard finish loss on the mag tube from the action. Receiver and barrel both have the flaming bomb proofs, and the receiver is 'U.S.' marked. Correct heat shield with plum tone. The wood parts are in great shape with no cracks and hardly any dings or nicks, but unfortunately, the buttstock is mismatched to the receiver. Listing includes a scarce, original Remington bayonet. Shiny bore with a hint of frosting. Comes with a period canvas sling.
