Description
1/19/26 - This is a rare example of a 4th variation, 6th SS-contract Walther PPK, made in 1940. Total production on this variation was only 500, and this particular example is documented by serial number on page 66 of the reference book SS Contract Walther PP/PPK by Thomas Whiteman. The gun is all matching and has the proper "Eagle N" commercial proof stamps. It has retained about 95% of its original high polish bluing, with wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Scattered light surface nicks, dings, and scratches on the both sides of the slide. A couple dings on the tang and though there is no actual finish loss, there is some nearly imperceptible surface oxidation on the front grip strap. A few handling marks on the top of the slide. Excellent bore with sharp rifling. Fitted with a nice original grip, though there is a hairline crack running from the edge of the screw hole to the top of the left panel. Comes with one proper SS contact matching magazine. The mechanics are mostly excellent, though the magazine release button is a little tight.
